Fascinated by the use of digital health technology to improve global health.  Collaborating with the TecHealth research team to build software and analyze big data to uncover trends and develop appropriate interventions.  Working on all of this with an eye towards building a high-tech startup and hiring a lot of Gamecocks to change the world!

Executive Director: A public-private partnership commissioned by the Office of the Governor to work with each of the state’s broadband providers to create detailed maps of broadband coverage and to assess the current state of broadband adoption, community-by-community, across South Carolina. This work serves as a foundation for addressing remaining service gaps while also engaging state, regional and local leaders in workforce development activities designed to bridge South Carolina’s digital divide.

Founder/President: Launched startup and serve as lead software developer.  Selected as 2012 National Finalist (Top 2) in the Sanofi Data Design Diabetes Innovation Challenge.

Director, Grow IT Initiatives: As a non-profit, worked with communities and organizations to promote, teach, and grow IT careers. My role was to focus on existing professionals and provide events and training for continuing professional education.

VP Sales & GM Columbia Data Center: Responsible for managing data center operations and building sales team. Monitored construction of the Columbia data center and recruited initial operations team.

President, SC Launch: Developed a groundbreaking partnership between SCRA, the University of South Carolina, Clemson University, and the Medical University of South Carolina into an entity known as SC Launch.  In addition, oversaw the Research Services division, the South Carolina Nutrition Consortium, and the South Carolina EPSCOR program.

Founder / President: Created one of the first technology business accelerators in South Carolina and provided a $1.7M seed-capital fund using a majority of personal capital.

Vice President, Solomon Technology Center: After acquisition, managed professional services located in four regional offices (Atlanta, Dallas, Pleasanton, and Wilmington) and a team of 75 consultants.


CLEARVIEW SOFTWARE, INC. (Wilmington, DE)                                                                                  5/90 – 9/98

Founder / President: Boot-strapped custom software company and grew the startup from 1 to 48 employees located in 4 offices throughout the U.S. and in Mexico. Designed/developed multiple integrated applications for the Solomon IV accounting environment. Clearview Software was acquired by Solomon Software in 1998.

VP, Systems Engineer: Analyzed customer requirements and then designed and implemented numerous local area networks.

Field Engineer: Provided installation and maintenance support for GE products located in manufacturing environments throughout the Carolinas. Worked on high voltage switchgear, transformers, digital drives, and motors. Specialized in software development for programmable logic controllers (PLC’s).
